Pittsburgh Steelers wideout Diontae Johnson is calling out the reports saying he skipped the team's voluntary workouts that started Monday due to contract disputes.

Andrew Fillipponi of 93.7 The Fan claimed that Johnson did not attend the start of the offseason program because he wants to get paid. The report went as far as to saying that the Steelers wideout wants to be “perceived” like his other wideout peers like DK Metcalf and Deebo Samuel.

Upon seeing the reports, Johnson did not hold back as he basically suggested that it's fake news.

“Don’t believe everything you see lol,” Johnson wrote on Twitter.

“If they don’t have a story.. they gone make one,” he furthered in a separate tweet.

For what it's worth, Fillippoini claimed earlier this April that the 25-year-old Diontae Johnson is seeking a five-year extension worth north of $90 million.

Johnson is entering his fourth season with the Steelers, and there is no doubt he deserves a raise. He is due $2.79 million in 2022, and after a Pro Bowl year, it is not surprising why he is seeking a bigger payday from the Steelers.

Furthermore, the Florida native is hardly the only wide receiver skipping voluntary workouts while seeking for better contracts. As reported earlier, Tennessee Titans WR AJ Brown and San Francisco 49ers star Deebo Samuel both opted not to attend their teams' offseason programs while negotiating a new deal.
