Pittsburgh Steelers outside linebacker Anthony Chickillo was reportedly arrested over the weekend after an alleged incident with his girlfriend in Fayette County, per WPXI sports anchor Chase Williams. According to the report, he was charged with simple assault, criminal mischief, and harassment.

Court records detail Chickillo was arraigned before District Judge Mike Defino Jr. at 7:40 a.m. He then was released on a $10,000 bond.

The Steelers have confirmed that they are aware of the situation. The organization released a statement that said:

“We are aware of an incident involving Anthony Chickilo last night and are still gathering information. Until we have further details we will not provide any further comments.”

Chickillo became a member of the Steelers organization in the 2015 NFL Draft; they selected him with a sixth-round pick out of Miami. He signed a two-year $8 million contract to stay in Pittsburgh during the offseason.

Chickillo has failed to make much of an impact for Pittsburgh in 2019, as he has been sidelined for three games with plantar fasciitis. For the season, the 6-3 outside linebacker has half a sack, which he tallied along with T.J. Watt in last Sunday's win over the Los Angeles Chargers. His primary role with the team is on special teams.
