The Pittsburgh Steelers suffered an abysmal 33-3 loss against the New England Patriots on Sunday Night Football in Week 1. An NFL coach simply described Pittsburgh's blowout loss to the Patriots a “horror movie.”

Per Mike Sando in The Athletic:

“It’s like I’ve seen this horror movie and I still keep watching the thing and I still keep getting scared,” the coach said. “How many times can we watch the same movie? But we do. Pittsburgh, with six Lombardis in the lobby, is bowling the shotgun snap back in Foxborough just like the college kids in the horror movie are trying to start their car when the guy in the ski mask is running after them. They run by the shed full of pick axes and chainsaws, go try to start the car that never starts.”

Coming into Sunday night's game, the Patriots were considered to be heavy favorites for the opening tilt. However, no one saw the reigning Super Bowl champs steamrolling the Steelers on the same night they unveiled their sixth title banner.

Over the years, Tom Brady has had the Steelers' number—especially at home in Foxborough. Dating back to 2002, the Patriots have won 12 out of the 16 meetings between the two teams.

The Week 1 matchup wasn't any different with Brady severely outplaying Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers on the field. While Mike Tomlin has been the head coach in Pittsburgh, the Steelers have been unable to take down the Patriots at Gillette Stadium.

There was some optimism around the Steelers in 2019 with the team ridding of the drama surrounding Le'Veon Bell and Antonio Brown. In the end, they could've used those two to combat the offensive onslaught of the Patriots.

Instead, they'll be haunted by the thought of Brown joining the team that just embarrassed them on national television.
