The Steelers — perhaps realizing that Antonio Brown is really hitting the bricks — have decided to up the ante for his replacement.

According to a report by NBC Sports, the team has decided that they won't accept anything less than a first-rounder to replace Brown, who — as we'd previously reported — is likely to see a deal finalized by the end of the week.

Oakland has three first-round draft picks after trading Khalil Mack and Amari Cooper to Chicago and Dallas, respectively.

This is certainly a rather interesting turn of events, especially since it had been previously reported that a long-shot situation would feature Antonio Brown burying the hatchet — and not in each other's backs.

However, in other Brown news, there are some teams that have passed on the idea of working with Brown. Teams like the Cardinals, Broncos, and Jets have all passed on him, though the Green Bay Packers are reportedly extremely interested in him (and, as we've previously reported, have an 11 percent chance of acquiring the wide receiver.

Other teams have reported that they'd be welcoming to Brown should a viable offer come through. The Raiders, for example, have said that they'd welcome him with “open arms” if he does decide to come through.

Perhaps now Antonio Brown can put the focus back in the game and not on the drama, because when he's focused on the game, he actually does well — as this past season's stats have proven. In the past eight seasons, he has averaged 103 catches for 1,380 yards and nine touchdowns.
