The NBA world was placed under a gloomy cloud when tragic news about San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich's wife passing away was released to the public.

Popovich is one of the most respected figures in the NBA, making the outpour of support already expected in this moment of grief for the whole family.

His former player and now rival bench boss in Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr was asked for a reaction on the sad news, but according to ESPN's Chris Haynes, Kerr couldn't give a comment.

Steve Kerr, understandably, didn’t have it in him to speak about the wife of Gregg Popovich passing away.

Kerr and Popovich go a long way from the former's days as a player for the Spurs where he won a championship under the latter's tutelage to their famous coaching battles over the past few years.

Erin Popovich had been ill for a long time already. They were married for four decades and have been blessed with two children.

This is a tough time for the entire Popovich family and the entire NBA is with them as they go through this difficult times.
