The Seattle Storm was handed a potentially huge blow on Tuesday when superstar Breanna Stewart exited their game against Washington with an apparent foot injury. The team announced on Friday that she will now miss the last two games of the regular season and be re-evaluated prior to the postseason:

It's definitely good news that Breanna Stewart hasn't been ruled out for the playoffs yet because she is undoubtedly the heart and soul of this Storm team. The former Uconn standout is averaging 20.3 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 2.7 assists this season for Seattle, who are currently 20-10, which puts them third in the WNBA.

Injuries have unfortunately been a common occurrence for Stewart. She missed the entirety of the 2019 campaign due to a torn Achilles. Just a year before, the forward won MVP of the league. The Storm will be looking to run it back in the postseason as well after winning it all last season, beating A'ja Wilson and the Las Vegas Sparks in the WNBA Finals. But, the health of Breanna Stewart will ultimately be a deciding factor in how far they can go this time around because, without their leading scorer, it's going to be extremely tough to win another chip.

Let's hope it's a speedy recovery for Stewart.
