It was supposed to be the Lakers. At the beginning of the season, LeBron James and LA were projected to go all the way to the Finals and match up with the Brooklyn Nets. That's what most odds predicted anyway. Chris Paul and the Suns were going to be good, but people believed the Lakers were the team to beat. So it was fairly ironic that on Tuesday night Phoenix was the team that knocked Los Angeles out of the playoff picture with their 121-110 victory

Chris Paul discussed the big win following the game after Phoenix had dropped two consecutive prior contests.

“I think being back home in front of our crowd, we just got back to the way we're playing.”

And there was surely added motivation to eliminate his friend LeBron James and the Lakers from postseason contention.

CP3 and the Suns currently lead the West and own the best record in the NBA. They also overcame an injury to Paul which he suffered right before the All-Star break. This team is talented, deep, and ready to roll in the playoffs.

Chris Paul further discussed the team’s mindset moving forward.

“One of the worst things you can do in sports is when you show people really what you got. I think everybody on our team did that at some point this year or last year. Once you do that we expect it. You know, we challenge each other when we don’t see it we push each other, that’s why we are on a team.”

The Suns have aspirations of making a deep playoff run this year. As for the Lakers, their front office and roster has plenty of needs worth addressing during the offseason.
