Since it was reported that Kyrie Irving has requested a trade from the Cleveland Cavaliers, a number of teams have already shown interest in trading for him, and making him one of their franchise's cornerstones for the future. The San Antonio Spurs, New York Knicks, and Minnesota Timberwolves are the teams Irving has named as his preferred landing spots, but the Phoenix Suns have emerged as a team interested in him. The Suns are a possible team that could pull off a straight-up deal with the Cavs, as they have the assets to package in a deal, which could be a win-win situation for all parties involved.

However, long-time sports radio show host on Arizona 98.7, John Gambadoro, recently shared that the Suns are not willing to include newly-drafted Josh Jackson in any trade with the Cavaliers. They believe the 20-year-old will be an asset for them in the coming years, and could be a centerpiece alongside Devin Booker.

Jackson was one of the top prospects in last month's draft, after his stellar season with Kansas, where he showcased his brilliant all around game. He proved that he is a multi-faceted player and can impact the game on both ends of the floor, with averages of 16.3 points, 7.4 rebounds,3.0 assists, 1.7 steals and 1.1 blocks per game. At 6-foot-8 and 207 lbs., he is also versatile enough to play and defend multiple positions, which makes him even more valuable.

His addition to the Suns gives them another piece they could build on, and it makes perfect sense that they want to hold onto him, especially with his upside. If they can somehow pull off a deal for Irving and not give up Jackson, it will be very interesting to see them play together and form a talented young core that can be considered one of the NBA's teams of the future.
