Despite the Phoenix Suns being considered a lock to draft Arizona center DeAndre Ayton, the team could still consider potentially moving down in the draft to snatch European wonder Luka Doncic, a favorite of new head coach Igor Kokoskov, according to Chris Sheridan of Get More Sports.

This move would absolutely shake the NBA Draft from its core, as most experts are anticipating Ayton as a lock for the Suns and Marvin Bagley III for the Sacramento Kings, but this could completely alter how teams in the lottery pick from there.

The only reason a team would take on this deal would be to draft Ayton, making the Atlanta Hawks a potential target, given their interest in Texas center Mo Bamba, another legitimate 7-footer with abundant athleticism.

Doncic's fit with the Suns is somewhat murky, having drafted a player with a similar frame in Josh Jackson last year, making this a likely positional battle with another young prospect.

The 19-year-old is believed to want to play the point guard position, despite standing at 6-foot-8, but despite his clear ability, it would take a few years of honing into the craft to finally become a finished product.

Doncic played the shooting guard and small forward positions with his home club Real Madrid during the past few seasons, averaging only 3.7 assists per game in 2016-17 and improved to 4.6 this past season.

If the Suns indeed choose to move down (unreasonably), it won't be by many spots, given that Doncic is still expected to land in the top five of this year's draft.
