The Houston Texans managed to get a win streak going with their victory over the Miami Dolphins. Unfortunately, it came with a bit of a price after wide receiver Will Fuller was forced to leave the game early.

Fuller suffered a torn ACL midway through the fourth quarter. According to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter, he is expected to undergo surgery and will miss the rest of the 2018 NFL season:

Texans WR Will Fuller will undergo surgery on his torn ACL this week and is expected to miss 6-to-9 months, per source. Under this timeline, Fuller is expected to be ready at some point during next summer’s training camp.

The update undoubtedly deals a blow to the Texans' offense. Fuller has established himself as a bonafide No. 2 option across from wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins. He was in the midst of his best season yet after registering 32 catches for 503 yards and four touchdowns prior to the injury.

Unfortunately, injuries are nothing new for Fuller. The former Notre Dame product has missed nine games in his first three seasons due to injury. He is now hoping to at least make it back by training camp next year.

Fuller's injury seemingly opens the door for wide receiver Keke Coutee to step up in his place once he returns from a hamstring injury. Although he lacks the same big-play ability, he has shown plenty of promise this season. The rookie made quite the debut against the Indianapolis Colts by hauling in 11 receptions for 109 yards. The Texans are hoping he can serve as a viable option moving forward.
