The Houston Texans have remained adamant that they would prefer to keep Deshaun Watson moving forward despite the quarterback wanting out. Even though Watson continues to distance himself from the franchise, the Texans are not wavering on their stance when it comes to a trade involving Watson, per NFL Network's Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport.

Ever since the Texans promised Watson to keep him in the loop for their hirings this offseason, only to hire guys behind his back, Watson has seemingly made it clear he wants out of Houston. However, after hiring Nick Caserio as their next general manager and David Culley as their next head coach, the Texans are hoping they could still sway his favor back.

With that being said, Watson could play the long game with Houston, which would involve him sitting out until he gets traded elsewhere. Also, Watson owns a no-trade clause in his contract, allowing him to essentially choose where he's traded if it gets to that point.

Of course, Watson is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL and he's only 25 years old right now. Provided that, a trade package for Watson would get the Texans a historic return if they end up caving this offseason.

It appears that the relationship between Houston and Watson is irreparable due to the organization doing everything they can to upset the superstar signal-caller. How things progress on both fronts, whether a trade materializes or not, will definitely be the story of the offseason.
