In 2017, the Philadelphia Eagles won their first Super Bowl in franchise history, putting a dent in the New England Patriots' possible dynasty. Their most recent previous appearance in the Big Game was in the 2004 season, when they lost to the Patriots. Talk about redemption.

Although the Eagles only recently won their first Super Bowl, they have been one of the most consistent teams in recent history. Since 2000 season, the Eagles have made the postseason 13 times, winning nine Division championships. In total, the Philly franchise has 14 Division titles and 5 NFL titles, including the Super Bowl win. All this winning wouldn't be possible without outstanding individuals quarterbacking the team through years. So we've come up with a list of the 5 best quarterbacks in Philadelphia history.

5. Carson Wentz

Let's get this out of the way. Yes, he's only played four seasons. Yes, he's been hurt A LOT. Not to mention he seems to get hurt at the most inopportune times, none worst than his ACL tear during the Eagles' 2017 championship run. But when he's healthy and playing, no one can deny the greatness oozing from Philly's now-undisputed main man.

In his four years of play, Wentz has averaged a 92.5 quarterback rating and in his first full season since his debut, Wentz passed for over 4,000 yards and threw 27 touchdowns in the process. This was in an injury-plagued season that limited his options. Imagine what he'll do with a fit and reloaded roster this year? I know Carson's looking forward to it.

4. Ron Jaworski

Originally drafted by the Rams, Ron Jaworski found himself in Philadelphia in 1977 and he would play for the Eagles until 1986.

“Jaws”, as he was known, led the Eagles to multiple playoff appearances but none more important than their 1980 Super Bowl run. They beat the rival Cowboys to get to the franchise's first trip to the Super Bowl, where they would fall to the Oakland Raiders.

In his time in Philly, Jaworski threw for 26,963 yards, helping score 175 touchdowns in the process.

3. Randall Cunningham

Taken in the 2nd round of the draft at 37, the same exact pick his incumbent was drafted at, Randall Cunningham is one of the first quarterbacks to revolutionize the position to what is seen a lot in modern times. He had a literal cannon throwing arm and was a more than capable ball carrier.

The UNLV product was named to All-Pro teams thrice during his time with the Eagles and was awarded the MVP award in 1990, a testament to his talent. Although his career did not live up to expectations, partly due to injuries, Cunningham no doubt built a resume worthy of top 3 status in his time in Philadelphia.

Career totals as a member of  the Philadelphia Eagles:  22,877 passing yards and 4,482 rushing yards

2. Nick Foles

I'll admit, Nick Foles hasn't been the most popular guy lately and his standing within the NFL has been questioned.

Still, in almost 90 years in the NFL, the Eagles have only one Lombardi trophy to show for their efforts and who was leading them when they won it? Foles. Winning matters and Nick won when it mattered the most.

Outside the Super Bowl win, Foles actually also has the stats to prove he's one of the best to quarterback for the Philadelphia team. Foles has 21-11 regular season record and a 4-2 postseason clip as an Eagle. He also has the best passer rating in franchise history at 92.9. Oh and you know, he also had that insane performance against the Raiders in 2013, where he tied a NFL record 7 touchdowns thrown.

All that said, Foles time with Philadelphia was more than impressive and memorable.

1. Donovan McNabb

The only thing missing from Donovan McNabbs's list of accomplishments is that he never won a Super Bowl. This still does not takeaway from the fact that McNabb is the winningest quarter back in Eagles history, championship be damned.

Taken 2nd overall in 1999, McNabb had  92-49-1 record in his over decade-long run with the Eagles.  He led the team to 5 Division titles and, with the help of Terrell Owens, finally earned a trip to the Super Bowl in 2004, ultimately failing to win against the Patriots.

Though he never won a championship and his dominant run with Philly ended sourly, again thanks to T.O., no one can take away how much success McNabb had in an Eagles' jersey. He has 9 playoff wins, the most in franchise history and tied for most in NFL history by a quarterback to never win a Super Bowl.
