The Los Angeles Lakers are all of a sudden down 3-2 against the Phoenix Suns in the first round of the NBA Playoffs. The Suns took Game 1, the Lakers won the next pair, and the Suns have won back-to-back games and are just one game away from a huge series victory against the defending NBA Champions. Suddenly, LeBron James and the Lakers are one loss away from a first-round exit.

However, the Lakers as an organization have been here before, although none of the current players were on that team in 2010. Kobe Bryant, Metta World Peace, and Pau Gasol were a few of the names down 3-2 against the Boston Celtics in the 2010 NBA Finals before they won two straight to hoist the Larry O'Brien trophy and bring home the title.

Everybody remembers that insane 2010 Finals series, right? Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen, Rajon Rondo, and many more for the Celtics against a stacked Lakers squad.

Now, make no mistake, this current Lakers team isn't the same. That's obvious.

However, King James is one of the best all-time in elimination games. Since the 2011 NBA Finals, LeBron has a ridiculous average of 36.5 points per game with 11.5 rebounds and 7.6 assists in elimination games alone.

Albeit, this time Anthony Davis is hobbled and missed Game 5 with a groin strain. Can LeBron will this team in Game 6 and force a do-or-die Game 7 in Phoenix?

If Lakers' history is any sort of good luck, it could bode well for the purple and gold. It's been a tough series, and nobody besides LeBron showed up in an embarrassing 30-point drubbing in Game 5.

It's going to be difficult, and LeBron James will need to string together another out-of-this-world elimination game performance, much like the ones we saw in the previous years before joining the Lakers. The health and status of Anthony Davis also will play a huge role, but if LeBron wants to lead the Lakers back to the promised land, he has to come out firing, just as LeBron James said after the Game 6 loss, per Spectrum SportsNet.

“Shoot all the bullets you got and throw the gun too.”

Game 6, a do-or-die game for the Lakers, is Thursday night.
