On Saturday afternoon, the Oklahoma City Thunder dismantled the Cleveland Cavaliers 148-124. Carmelo Anthony ended up scoring 29 points, 10 rebounds and three assists. LeBron James only scored 18 points with seven assists and three rebounds. Clearly, Anthony out-dueled James in a discouraging game for the Cavaliers. Still, Anthony was not bragging to one of his best friends and rivals, according to Erik Horne of the Oklahoman.

Carmelo Anthony says any postgame ribbing between him and friend LeBron James after playing each other stopped a few seasons into the league: “After playing so many games, being in the league so long, it’s like ‘on to the next.’”

Anthony and James were both drafted in the illustrious 2003 NBA Draft class. Both players are 33 years old, and are in their respective primes. Although James is clearly the better and more accomplished player, Anthony is just as skilled and talented. Anthony got the best of James on Saturday night, but after so many match-ups over the years, he clearly isn't dwelling on the Thunder's big game. In fact, the Thunder still have some work to do in the regular season rather than dwelling on one game.

The Thunder are 26-20 in the Western Conference and are currently ranked fifth. They are actually four games back from the Timberwolves who are the third seed. If the Thunder can win more games, they can climb the Western Conference standings, potentially making their road easier in the postseason. Meanwhile, the Cavaliers are 27-18 and have become a rather mediocre team, at least defensively. Apparently, both teams have some work to do in the regular season, and Anthony doesn't have time to gloat over one victory.
