Oklahoma City Thunder forward Paul George seemed to have a turned a new corner in terms of shooting the rock from deep. Thus far in his first year wearing Thunder colors, George is enjoying a career-high accuracy when it comes to 3-point shooting.

A Reddit user who goes by the name xslayuh emphasized on George's hot stroke. Through this season’s first 36 games, the 27-year-old forward is knocking down 3.2 long distance makes per game on 43.6 percent of his shots from behind the arc — both are career-best marks. George has gone even hotter as of late. Over his last 10 games, he has registered an incredible 50.8 percent shooting clip from long range while burying 3.6 treys per contest. Moreover, Paul George has made at least three 3-pointers in three of the Thunder’s past four games.

While George joins fellow scoring machines in Russell Westbrook and Carmelo Anthony on the Thunder, his scoring output does not seem to significantly differ from his averages back when he was the unquestioned alpha male of the Indiana Pacers. George is putting up 21.0 points per game this year, lower than the 23.7 points he put up a night last season for the Pacers, but it is not a sharp drop either.

One explanation to that is George being able to capitalize on increased wide-open shooting opportunities from the outside. George used to attract much of the defensive focus from opponents in Indiana, but with Westbrook and Anthony around, he is consistently getting quality looks from the perimeter.

Per NBA.com, Paul George is shooting 3.1 long distance attempts when he is left wide open (closest defender is six feet away). That’s a drastic improvement from the 2.3 attempts he used to have under the same circumstances with the Pacers.
