Oklahoma City Thunder big man Steven Adams is quite a character, always good for a funny quote on a daily basis. Once in a while, it's intentional. Sometimes, it's completely accidental.

Like not knowing Denver Nuggets big man Nikola Jokic's first name, for example.

The best part about this is Adams totally was not joking or just trying to be funny. He legitimately did not know that Jokic's first name was Nikola, as evidenced by his bewildered look when a reporter mentioned “Nikola.”

The Thunder big man better get used to Nikola Jokic's name, though, because we are going to be hearing it an awful lot over the next 10 years.

Jokic is enjoying a terrific season for the Nuggets, averaging 17.1 points, 9.8 rebounds, 7.6 assists and 1.4 steals over 30.4 minutes per game while shooting 47.7 percent from the floor, 29 percent from three-point range and 83.2 percent from the free-throw line.

Imagine that for a second: a seven-footer averaging nearly eight assists a night.

The 23-year-old Serbian was originally selected by Denver in the second round (41st pick overall) of the 2014 NBA Draft. He came over to the league the following year and put everyone on notice, registering 10 points, seven boards and 2.4 assists across 21.7 minutes a night during his rookie campaign.

The following year, Jokic broke out, tallying 16.7 points, 9.8 rebounds and 4.9 dimes per game while shooting a blistering 57.8 percent from the field and making 32.4 percent of his long-range attempts.

Jokic's performance this season has translated into massive success for the Nuggets overall, as Denver currently owns a record of 18-9 and sits atop the Western Conference standings.

The Thunder and Nuggets will clash on Friday night in the Mile High City.
