The Minnesota Timberwolves will be without starting point guard Jeff Teague when they take on the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday.

Jeff Teague is dealing with soreness in his left foot. Teague's left ankle has been causing him problems all season, and now his foot is in pain. It has just been an injury-riddled year for the veteran point guard.

The Timberwolves will start Derrick Rose in Teague's place. Rose scored 31 points against the Suns on Sunday and hit the game-winning shot as well.

In 31 games for Minnesota this year, Teague is averaging 11.5 points, 2.4 rebounds and 8.1 assists while shooting 40.6 percent from the field, 34.1 percent from beyond the arc and 82.0 percent from the free-throw line. Tuesday will be the 16th game Teague has missed this year.

Rose is putting up better numbers than Teague his season, so the Timberwolves' offense won't suffer in his absence. D-Rose is averaging 19.3 points, 2.9 rebounds and 4.8 assists and shooting 48.3 percent from the floor, 43.1 percent from the 3-point line and 85.4 percent from the foul line.

The Timberwolves enter Tuesday with a record of 22-24, good for 11th place in the Western Conference standings. The team is 3-3 under head coach Ryan Saunders, who replaced Tom Thibodeau.
