Tom Thibodeau seems to keep holding on to the idea that Jimmy Butler could suit up for the Minnesota Timberwolves. The head coach expects Butler in camp in the next week or so if there is no trade made, per Derek James of 1500 ESPN.

This situation continues to be a mess for Minnesota. Thibodeau and owner Glen Taylor don't seem to be on the same page regarding the path forward for Butler. Taylor has made it clear that he wants this to come to a conclusion sooner rather than later, but Tom Thibodeau is already talking about Butler making it to camp.

This isn't a good look for the Timberwolves. The organization looks like it's in disarray and there's no certainty as the team prepares to start the season. With the reports of a locker room in disarray, would Butler's presence in camp make sense? It seems clear that there is no going back for Butler at this point. Meanwhile, Thibodeau is trying to prepare for Butler to come to camp if there's no good deal on the table, which would seem highly unlikely at this point in time.

This is just a strange situation all around. The biggest takeaway is undoubtedly the lack of cohesion among Minnesota's front office. Thibs and Taylor seem to be operating independently of one another and no one looks like they're on the same page. The sooner Butler is traded, the better for Minnesota. The longer this drags on, the worse the organization appears.
