Tennessee Titans tight end Delanie Walker is still recovering a nasty ankle injury and is unsure if he will be ready for the start of training camp. If he isn't ready to go, he will start on PUP but there is a chance he might not stay on it long.

“I'll leave that up to the coaches,” Walker told Jenny Vrentas of SI.com.

Last season Walker suffered an ankle injury during week one that required surgery and ended his season. Walker has been careful with his rehab but has gotten back on the field a bit.

“Just stepping on the field, running routes and doing drills, that was the biggest [hurdle],” he said of his OTAs work. “I had only been running for two weeks, and being able to run routes against guys, and beating them.”

Even though Walker could start on the PUP, the goal for him isn't to be ready for training camp, it's being ready for week one.

“We have great coaches and training staff,” he said. “They're probably not going to let me hit the ground running like I want to, but I look forward to getting into my groove.”

Walker is 34 years old but the expectation is that once he gets back on the field, he will get back to his old ways, and be a big part of the Titans offense.

In 2017 Walker caught 74 passes for 807 yards and three touchdowns and the hope is that he can get back to those stats this upcoming season.
