The Tennessee Titans have strung together three consecutive 9-7 seasons. With quarterback Marcus Mariota slated to remain under center for his fifth NFL season in 2019, the veteran signal caller will try to lead the Titans to the postseason for the second time in his career.

The former Heisman Trophy winner recently elaborated on his goals for the upcoming season.

“I think when it comes down to it, just being able to absorb the hits, being able to be healthy for a full … year,” Mariota said, via the team's official website. “Those things haven’t really happened yet. So I am doing my best to be able to be on the front of it, and allow myself the opportunity to play all 16.”

It is certainly no secret that the oft-injured signal caller must stay healthy if the Titans are going to have a shot at reaching the postseason for the second time in the last three seasons.

“I am feeling better,” Mariota added. “I don’t know an exact number [percentage-wise], but I am pretty close to being fully healthy, and as every single day goes on, we have a plan to get more and more healthy. I think this athletic training staff has done a great job and I look forward to continuing to work with them.

“I [don’t] necessarily have limitations – just trying to be smart. If there is something that is lingering or something doesn’t feel right, just being able to communicate with everybody.”

The Titans will also host the 2019 NFL Draft in Nashville. Tennessee could be in store for a big 2019 season.
