Marcus Mariota is still the starting quarterback of the Tennessee Titans. Despite encountering serious injury after serious injury since originally joining the NFL ranks back in 2015, the former Heisman Trophy winner and No. 2 overall pick is now gearing up to enter the final year of his rookie contract with the Titans.

Nonetheless, Mariota is still in no rush to change his approach under center.

“I really don’t [change my approach],” Mariota told reporters on Tuesday afternoon, via Teresa Walker of the Associated Press. “I just try to be again the best that I can be. Let it ride. No matter what, I get to come out here and I get to play a game that I love, and I’m just going to make the most of it.”

Although winning a playoff game for the Titans, in addition to leading Tennessee to three consecutive 9-7 regular seasons, it remains hard for the oft-injured signal caller to stay on the field at a steady rate, so it seems.

“I’m just trying to be the best that I can be,” Mariota recently told reporters, via AtoZSports in Nashville. “Obviously, health-wise there’s things that toward the end of the year I wish had happened differently, but it’s just kind of the nature of the beast, the game that we play. I think as we go through this, we’ll find ways to stay healthier. But I don’t change my approach.”

The Titans also brought in some insurance for Mariota this offseason by adding former Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill to the roster.
