It didn't take long for fourth-year shooting guard Victor Oladipo to claim long-term allegiance to his new team, the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Oladipo was traded from the Orlando Magic along with Ersan Ilyasova and the rights to Domantas Sabonis for the Thunder's Serge Ibaka on June 23.

The 6-foot-4 rising star told Alex Kennedy of Basketball Insiders what he thought of the place he now calls home.

“I'd love the opportunity to be here long-term,” said Oladipo. “I love this city. I know I'm going to love the organization. I already do.”

The Indiana product has been a model of work ethic in his short NBA career, as he's improved his field goal, three-point, and free-throw percentages in every offseason, developing into a more efficient shooter.

He'll now share the backcourt duties with perennial All-Star Russell Westbrook who looks to be in line for an MVP-type season since he stands as the lone franchise player of the team.

Oladipo and Westbrook figure to be one of the quickest backcourts and absolute hawks on defense with their athletic and long frames.

While the loss of Kevin Durant and Ibaka will be a definite hole in the Thunder lineup, Oladipo is a young piece that can flourish under a coach like Billy Donovan.
