If you’re still wondering why the Dallas Cowboys made a considerable gamble just before the trade deadline to acquire wide receiver Amari Cooper from the Oakland Raiders, well, here’s one huge answer for you.

During the last few minutes of third quarter of Thursday’s home game against the visiting Washington Redskins, Cooper caught a short pass from quarterback Dak Prescott and converted it into a huge 90-yard touchdown run, which may or may not have been seen by Raiders head coach Jon Gruden.

Cooper has been a blessing to the Cowboys’ offense that has been much-maligned for most of the season, especially prior to the wide receiver’s arrival in Arlington. The Cowboys got Cooper in a trade with Oakland in exchange for a first-round pick in next year’s NFL Draft. Regardless of how that draft pick turns out, the Cowboys are definitely enjoying the presence of the former Alabama Crimson Tide, who is having quite a resurgence in Dallas after a slow start to the season with the Raiders.

The Cowboys entered the Redskins game ranked 28th in the league with just 193.7 passing yards per game, but have averaged 218.3 over their previous three contests, thanks in large part to the addition of a playmaker like Amari Cooper.
