The Minnesota Vikings are fighting hard for a playoff spot while the statuses for several of their key offensive players remain up in the air.

Running back Dalvin Cook, who was recently named to the Pro Bowl for the third straight year, was placed on the COVID-19 reserve list and wide receiver Adam Thielen is still limited in practice due to a high ankle sprain. Minnesota did get some good news, though: quarterback Kirk Cousins was a full participant in Thursday's practice.

Cousins, who is dealing with an injury to his ribs, has only missed one game since signing with the Vikings ahead of the 2018 season. The 33-year-old was a limited participant on Wednesday and seemingly was in some pain while doing routine throws on the side. He has thrown for 3,656 passing yards and 29 touchdowns this season.

At 7-7, Minnesota is currently in possession of the NFC's third Wild Card spot. But the Vikings have the same record as two other teams, so they cannot afford to collapse down the stretch. Cousins, despite his often disappointing play, has the trust of Cook and the Minnesota offense. His health is crucial for the Vikings, who are more skilled on offense than defense.

The Vikings have a very important and difficult game ahead of them as they face the mighty Los Angeles Rams. Cousins' aversion to missing games and ability to practice by the end of the week should allow him to play, but his status will certainly be worth keeping an eye on.
