SAN FRANCISCO — The Golden State Warriors failed to make the first round of the NBA playoffs for the second year in a row. However, there are plenty of positives the franchise can take from the up-and-down season. Andrew Wiggins posted career highs in field goal and three-point percentage. He averaged 18.6 points per game during the season and became the team's best perimeter defender.

Wiggins had a very productive year in his first full season with the Warriors. The 2014 number one draft pick wants to be more than effective. Wiggins wants to be known as one of the best defenders in the NBA.

“I got a lot of goals I want to accomplish at some point in my career…I'm going to keep working at it. I'm going to keep defending my ass off to make it on the defensive teams. That's a big goal of mine,” Wiggins told ClutchPoints.

Wiggins defended the opposing team's best offensive threat throughout the season for the Warriors. He established himself to his team as a legitimate two-way player.

“And if I'm not there (All-Defensive team) this year, then next year I'm going to keep fighting for it, keep getting better, keep asserting myself to put myself in a position to be mentioned,” Wiggins told Warriors reporters.

The Warriors had one of the best defenses in the league. Adding Klay Thompson next year will add a much-needed boost offensively. All of the young guys received a valuable experience this season that will surely leave a bitter taste in their mouths. A bitter taste that they will be eager to get rid of next season.
