Kevin Durant's impending return to the court lasted all but 17 minutes, as the Golden State Warriors' All-Star forward collected 10 points, three rebounds, and six assists before departing through his ejection in the winding seconds of the first half.

Durant was irate at a couple of missed calls from referee Tre Maddox and got in his ear after tumbling to the floor upon contact, triggering his fifth ejection of the season.

“I got fouled. I told him how I felt about it. He kicked me out. Pretty simple,” said Durant after a 116-107 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday night. “I felt like earlier in the game, too, I was going to the rim and there was a call he missed. That was the second one I felt like they should've called.”

“It happens. It happened. You let your emotions get into it. I definitely wish I could've finished the game out, but I'll be in practice tomorrow and ready for the next game.”

Durant has gained a reputation for being a hothead in the last two seasons with the Warriors, but even more so this season, as the 11-year veteran had only gotten ejected twice before in his career before his five ejections through 61 games played in 2017-18.

The Golden State marksman admitted his technical fouls usually come through complaining to the officials and while it's something that has become a trend this season due to the inexperience of the new wave of referees, he doesn't expect it to be an unavoidable reaction come playoff time, where the team will need every second of his play.
