Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors hints that another star may be on the rise in Alfonzo McKinnie.

As per Mark Medina of The Mercury News, Curry raved about McKinnie's potential:

Earlier this month, the 6-foot-8 McKinnie signed a two-year deal with the Warriors and became part of the team's regular season roster. It's early in the season and the statistics may never give McKinnie's impact on the team justice. But in their win against the New York Knicks, McKinnie's role is pretty clear: he's the energy guy that every championship team has.

The name Alfonzo McKinnie may not ring a bell to most NBA fans. This is because the 26-year-old has mostly played abroad and entered the NBA as an undrafted prospect in 2015. He played in Luxembourg as well as for several G League teams.

As per C.J. Peterson of the San Francisco Examiner, McKinnie reflected briefly on his journey towards basketball's biggest stage.

“I’m conditioned for adversity,” McKinnie said. “My journey has been so crazy and I’ve been through so many ups and downs. It’s prepared me for now. I just want to come in and do what I can to keep the success going.”

Now, he can safely say that he made it. But in the NBA, making it is just one small step. Staying on top with the best team in the league is another. And taking a cue from Curry, perhaps McKinnie's here to stay a little while longer.
