Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors has reached the 50-trey mark faster than any other player in NBA history after connecting on seven 3-pointers during Wednesday night's 131-121 win over the New Orleans Pelicans. The marksman's total stands at 55 through nine games, giving him a shadow over six 3-pointers per game thus far.

What's more impressive is that Curry's volume shooting hasn't impacted his efficiency. He's shooting it at a mind-boggling 52.9 percent for the season, all while attempting the most 3s per game he has ever had in his career.
Curry's 3-point prowess has put him right in the driver's seat of the NBA's leading scorers, ranking as the top gunner with 33 points per game.
The 30-year-old also had a streak of seven games making five or more 3s in a game, but it was cut short due to Klay Thompson's record-breaking 52-point performance, which saw Curry pass the ball during his entire stint in the third quarter, refusing to take a single shot in order for Thompson to break the two-time MVP's own record.
Thompson's 3-point barrage to shoot himself out of a slump has been the only thing that has kept Curry from extending that record to nine and doing so with relative ease, as he has shot 50 percent or better from deep in six of his nine games.
The Warriors star's average suggests he's well on his way to break the untouchable 402 3-pointers he made in his unanimous MVP season in 2015-16, but it is health and the number of appearances he makes this season that will truly test whether he can reach or top his previous mark.
