Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry has gone nuclear in the past two-plus weeks. He is also on the verge of breaking an NBA record held by the late Kobe Bryant.

Curry has scored 30 or more points in eight consecutive games. He is two away from the most consecutive 30-point games for a player 33 years of age or older, a record still held by Bryant. The two-time MVPs ‘ 311 points in this stretch are the most by any player age 33 years or older, per Justin Kubatko of Basketball Reference.

The “Baby-Faced Assassin” has carried the Warriors on his back as of late.

Curry scored 41 points on 14-for-21 shooting in a win over the Milwaukee Bucks on April 6. He scored 32 points against the Washington Wizards three days later, though the Warriors came up empty.

But Curry is really beginning to find his range from the perimeter. He scored 38 points on 8-for-15 shooting from beyond the arc in a win over the Houston Rockets on Saturday.

The last two games have been especially prolific, as Curry poured in 53 points and was 10-for-18 from deep in a win over the Denver Nuggets on Monday before scoring 42 points in under 30 minutes of action Wednesday night against the Oklahoma City Thunder. He shot 11-for-16 from three-point land in that contest.

Curry will have an excellent chance to keep his streak going Thursday night against a Cleveland Cavaliers team ranked 20th in defensive rating and 27th in defensive three-point percentage.

The scoring exhibitions have been impressive. Can Curry help the Dubs stay in playoff position?

Golden State is ninth in the Western Conference and one game back of the eighth-seeded Memphis Grizzlies. Curry will hope to keep the Warriors' winning streak alive as he chases Bryant's record.
