Prior to an NBA game or any sports event, the whole arena offers a moment of silence as a sign of respect to those who have fallen to a recent tragic incident. Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr has been part of many of these pre-game traditions, and he uttered the harsh yet accurate truth about them.
As per Anthony Slater of The Athletic, Kerr expected to have another moment of silence tonight before their game against the Milwaukee Bucks, as a gesture of respect to the victims of mass shooting in Thousand Oaks, California.
And with the way things are going, Kerr foresees more of these if nothing is done to solve the problem that has been hounding America.
A somber Steve Kerr asked again pregame about another mass shooting in the country: “We’ll have a moment of silence tonight. We had a moment of silence last week. We’ll probably have a moment of silence next week. That’s the reality until we do something about it.”

The shooting claimed 12 lives and injured several others at Borderline Bar & Grill — a popular local hangout for the past 25 years. According to data from Gun Violence Archive, the recent shooting was the 307th mass shooting incident in 311 days. All in all, 328 people have died and 1,251 were injured.
Along with Kerr, the likes of LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers franchise sent out their thoughts and prayers for the victims.

Such acts of violence have prompted people like Steve Kerr and LeBron James to use their voice and influence, hoping that it would affect government policy — particularly on gun laws.
