Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr says the 2019 training camp which starts next week in San Francisco will be the “most important” camp he's had since his first one with the Dubs back in 2014.

The Warriors have a new-look roster this upcoming season. Gone are Kevin Durant, Andre Iguodala and Shaun Livingston. Newcomers D'Angelo Russell, Willie Cauley-Stein, Glenn Robinson III, Alec Burks and Omari Spellman are no doubt talented, but Kerr knows it's going to take time to integrate them into the Warriors' system.

Per Anthony Slater of The Athletic:

That’s why Kerr called this the “most important” camp he’s had since his first, 2014, when he originally installed his system and injected his ethos into the franchise. Practice time is limited once the season starts — 82 games are crunched into too small a window. These next few get-to-know-you weeks may be the most important of the entire year.

“This year, it’s totally different,” Kerr said. “Nobody really knows each other that well. We’re really going to have to examine our team in camp, the exhibition season, early in the season. Figure out the best way to play on both ends. We have some ideas and we’re going to really push them hard in camp. Camp will be critical.”

The Warriors are expected to start Stephen Curry, Russell, Draymond Green, Alfonzo McKinnie and Cauley-Stein. It's unknown if All-Star shooting guard Klay Thompson will play at all this upcoming season, as he's still recovering from his left ACL tear.

Training camp and preseason play will be critical for Steve Kerr and his coaching staff as they try and make this new roster gel.
