Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr is now the fastest coach in NBA history to reach 250 wins. Kerr passed his former coach, Phil Jackson, and now holds a 250-52 career record. Jackson held the previous record with 250 wins in his first 346 games. Kerr spoke about the accomplishment and shared the credit. He praised former Warriors assistant coach Luke Walton and said this was all possible thanks to his All-Star team. Kerr also jokingly threw some shade at Jackson, expressing surprise at how Jackson took so long to win 250 contests. According to The Associated Press, Kerr said:

“He had Michael Jordan for God sake, so I don’t know what Phil’s problem was.”

Two-time MVP Stephen Curry also commented on his coach's accolade and thanked him for setting a winning culture:

“It’s been an amazing 3 ½ years and hopefully more to come… It’s a lot about him setting the identity and the culture around our team and just being a great people guy. There’s probably a better term for that. He just knows how to relate to each and every one of us players and his coaching staff and you’re building that ultimate trust throughout the organization.”

Kerr's 250th win came against another former coach. The Warriors beat Gregg Popovich's San Antonio Spurs thanks to strong contributions from Draymond Green and Klay Thompson. Green scored 17 points and added eight rebounds and 11 assists. Thompson scored 25 points, grabbed three rebounds, and was a team high +16 in plus/minus.

After the game, Popovich commented on the Warriors. “They’re the best team in the world, so there’s lots of things to be impressed by.”
