The wait for James Wiseman's return to the Golden State Warriors might not be too long. That is if recent rumors are to be believed, of course.

In the Locked on Warriors Podcast, Cyrus Saatsaz revealed that his co-host Dieter Kurtenbach of the Bay Area News Group told him off air that the Warriors actually have a target date for Wiseman to play: March 1.

“Dieter revealed…a source tells him that James Wiseman will be playing on March 1…before we finally see the former #2 pick on the court,” Saatsaz said, via Heavy.com.

Naturally, such rumors should be taken with some skepticism. After all, things could still change depending on James Wiseman's progress. However, based on the recent reports about the second-year big man's development, it is not impossible for him to return sooner rather than later.

The Warriors have already ramped up his activities and advanced him to 5-on-5 scrimmaging, which means he is close to returning. Steve Kerr played down the meaning of development so as not to raise hopes up until they are sure of Wiseman's return, but that's definitely a huge hint.

“It just means he will continue to ramp up his work and hopefully continue to progress where he gets to the point where he’ll be able to play this year. We don’t have a timetable and we don’t really know what’s next beyond tomorrow. We’re just taking it a day at a time,” Kerr said recently.

If Wiseman indeed returns on March 1, it means he'd be available against the Minnesota Timberwolves for the Warriors' four-game road trip. It remains to be seen if he'll have some sort of minutes restriction when he returns, though it'll be a huge boost if he plays soon as the Dubs gear up for the postseason.
