San Francisco, CA – Superstar Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors received incredible news on Thursday night. Before his 45 point performance against the Los Angeles Clippers, Curry was named a member of the NBA 75th Anniversary Team. The NBA chose who they believe to be the best 75 best players of all time, and Curry made it on the list. The list wasn't in order. It just highlights the top 75 players in NBA history.

“Obviously, it’s an amazing honor,” Curry told ClutchPoints. “It’s something I never dreamed of. I remember watching the Top 50 list and those interesting jackets they had, and just the names you saw on that night and thinking about 25 more, the last 25 years, and what it’s meant. To be on that list is amazing, especially while you’re still playing.”

A list this popular is a huge thing for those who are a part of it. Receiving recognition for all of your hard work is a humbling experience. But then there are the ones who didn't make it and feel like they should've. Curry's two running mates with the Warriors, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson, were left off of the list.

Obviously those two (Thompson and Green) deserve to be on that list. Their resumes stack up with anybody in terms of winning, accolades, everything,” Curry said. “I know it’s a vote, and I know there’s a whole process, and there are some other top-level names that aren’t on that list. It speaks to how special that 75 is but also how talented this league is, and I play with two guys who deserve to be on that list as well.”

Although Curry believes his Warriors teammates should be on the list, he's happy Thompson isn't.

“I think Klay said fuel for the fire. I like that too.”

Curry knows a fired-up Thompson is precisely what the Warriors need this year, especially if they want to compete for a championship.
