Golden State Warriors star Klay Thompson had a terrific first half against the Denver Nuggets, and he made it known how ecstatic he is heading to the break.

At the end of the second quarter, Thompson was asked about his incredible start to the game that saw him bag 27 points. The 29-year-old sharpshooter had only a few words to say, but it was clear what he feels about his latest performance.

Klay Thompson went off in the first 24 minutes of play — shooting 6-of-7 from 3-point territory, — so it's no wonder why he was incredibly happy. The five-time All-Star also made nine of his 13 field goal attempts during that stretch.

The Washington State product ended the night with 39 points, three boards, four assists, two steals and a block in 35 minutes of play. He led the Warriors to a 122-105 rout of the second-seeded Nuggets.

Thompson missed Golden State's past two games against the Philadelphia 76ers and Boston Celtics due to right knee soreness. The Dubs went 1-1 over that stretch.

Interestingly, in Thompson's return, the Warriors didn't have a hard time fending off Denver at Oracle Arena.

The eight-year NBA veteran has certainly proven that he is a vital piece for the Warriors to win another title, and a performance like he displayed against the Nuggets just goes to show how big is his role for the reigning NBA champions.
