Golden State Warriors star guard Stephen Curry showed Baron Davis some love by donning his jersey as he entered Oracle Arena on Sunday.

To recall, Davis spent four seasons with the Warriors from 2004 to 2008.

Particularly in the 2006-2007 season, the Warriors qualified for the playoffs as the eighth seed in the Western Conference. They were matched up against the top seed Dallas Mavericks led by season MVP Dirk Nowitzki.

Like most first round match-ups featuring the first and last seed, everyone counted out the Warriors. Many predicted either a sweep or a Mavs win in five or six games.

But as the series progressed, it seemed that the Warriors had the Mavs figured out. Led by former Dallas head coach Don Nelson, Davis and crew upset the Avery Johnson-led squad in six games.

It was tagged as one of the greatest upsets in sports history. For the Golden State franchise, it was one big step to injecting back a winning culture into the organization.

Two years later after the great upset, Stephen Curry would join the team as the seventh overall pick in 2009. Curry definitely knows how rich of a history the Warriors have. And him donning Baron Davis' jersey shows that he hasn't forgotten about the greats that came before him.
