The Washington Football Team have the pieces to make some noise next season. With a new name, revamped uniforms, and a fresh start for a roster sprinkled with young albeit unproven talent, it seems all they need now is a new quarterback to lead the way.

Head Coach Ron Rivera sees no reason the Washington Football Team can't make that happen – one way or another. In a recent radio interview on The Sports Junkies program, coach Rivera sounded confident that WFT can get the right signal-caller to come to D.C.

Via Ben Standig:

Rivera tries debunking notion top veteran QBs won’t come to Washington: “Why not? Why wouldn't they come here?
@EBJunkies: “Because we've been bad for so many years.” Mentions poor attendance, etc.

Rivera: “What cures all that? Winning.” Then cites offensive playmakers here.

Asked specifically about Deshaun Watson, the biggest QB name on the trade market hat's more than likely to change rosters by next season, the WFT coach didn't hesitate to say that the team will at the very least do its due diligence.

@EBJunkies asks, “Could this organization go after Deshaun Watson?”

Ron Rivera: “This organization will be able to do what it needs to do, OK? And that’s all I’m going to say on that.”

Of course, there's still a host of off-field issues at play for Deshaun Watson that the Houston Texans are looking to resolve before next season. But just in terms of purely football, with all due respect to incumbent QB Taylor Heinicke, the Washington Football Team will go much further with a talent like Watson leading the way.
