The Washington Football Team won yet another game on Sunday, but it didn't come without consequences. Tight end Logan Thomas suffered a serious knee injury and was feared to have a torn ACL. However, after undergoing an MRI on Monday, it appears Thomas has a reason to be feeling positive. Via Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post:
Ron Rivera said Logan Thomas's MRI came back better than they had hoped. There is some damage to his knee but they're going to do more tests to verify. Rivera said the MRI indicated he did not tear his ACL, but further tests are needed to confirm that.

If it's not the ACL, it's believed it could be the MCL. He'll likely still miss extended time, but if the Washington TE can avoid surgery, that would be ideal. Thomas had a great day on Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders, leading the team with three receptions for 48 yards receiving and a touchdown. He already missed two months of the season and has only played six games.
Washington is currently playing very well, winning four straight and putting themselves in contention with a 6-6 record. However, losing Taylor Heinecke's top target out wide is undoubtedly a massive blow. Week 14 brings a vital divisional meeting with the Dallas Cowboys, who are currently in top spot in the NFC East. Having Thomas available would've been ideal.
While it feels unlikely Logan Thomas will play again in 2021, let's hope the injury isn't as serious as initially believed. There's definitely a reason for optimism.
