The New York Giants are in desperate need of a win against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 7 following a recent two-game skid. Fortunately, there is good reason to believe that quarterback Daniel Jones will be able to get back on track.

Jones was able to get his career off to a stellar start after taking over for quarterback Eli Manning in Week 3. However, he is now 2-2 after cooling off tremendously over the last few games. His matchup with fellow rookie quarterback Kyler Murray will undoubtedly prove to be one of the more intriguing storylines of the week.

Some growing pains were to be expected of Jones after being tasked to take over earlier than the Giants had initially planned. Although he has struggled to find his footing as of late, there were a number of factors that attributed to his lackluster performance.

For starters, the Giants' offense has been massively depleted with a number of key injuries to start the season. Running back Saquon Barkley is slated to make his return after missing the last three games with a high ankle sprain.

When healthy, he is arguably the best running back in the league and he should be able to help bring back a run game that was non-existent during his absence. Having Barkley in the backfield should help to serve as a stabilizing factor for Jones to find his rhythm.

Aside from Barkley, New York will also be welcoming back tight end Evan Engram into the mix after he missed last week's matchup versus the New England Patriots with a sprained MCL. Engram has served as the most viable weapon in the passing game so far this season and will look to pick up where he left off as a safety net for Jones.

Meanwhile, wide receiver Golden Tate has also become an integral part of the offense since making his debut in Week 5 after serving a four-game suspension. Having all of these weapons back for Jones should undoubtedly pay huge dividends.

It should also be noted that the rookie had to take on formidable defenses in consecutive weeks essentially without any help. Both the Patriots and Minnesota Vikings have given opposing offenses headaches this year so Jones' struggles are hardly an anomaly.

He should have a much easier time exposing the holes in a Cardinals defense that is giving up the third-most yardage (414.0) and fourth-most points per game (28.5) This favorable matchup could be just what Jones needs to get back to his promising self.
