Washington Wizards star Bradley Beal has been under the microscope as of late and now, talks about his contract extension have come up. Beal, who's been making headlines as of late due to his unique COVID-19 vaccine perspective, signed a two-year contract extension before the '19-20 NBA season which makes him a free agent come next year.

Per the Wizards star though, those contract negotiations are the least of his concerns at least right now.

“My biggest thing is getting us off going to a good start,” Beal told the Washington Post (via Bleacher Report). “We worry about the contract money and all that later. I’ll let them deal with it when the time comes, for sure. I got all year to sign, too. So I’m not in a rush.”

Beal's name has been on the rumor mill for the past few seasons now with the Washington franchise failing to have postseason success. They were able to make it to the postseason last season after two unsuccessful seasons which gives the franchise a bit of hope for the short-term future.

The Wizards had a massive overhaul this summer. They've revamped their lineup and have built around Beal which should add a bit of pressure on the three-time All-Star. If this offseason experiment doesn't end up working, these contract negotiations might come in sooner than Beal would want to.
