Thomas has played in 17 games this season for the Wizards. He’s averaging 12.6 points, 1.8 rebounds and 5.1 assists while shooting 44.6 percent from the field, 41.0 percent from beyond the arc and 80.0 percent from the free-throw line.
With the Wizards, Thomas is looking to revive his NBA career. He struggled with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Lakers during the 2017-18 season and fell out of the Denver Nuggets’ playing rotation last season. He hasn’t been the same All-Star-level player since suffering that hip injury with the Boston Celtics in 2017.
Thomas averaged 8.1 points, 1.1 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 12 regular-season games with the Nuggets last season while shooting 34.3 percent overall, 27.9 percent from the 3-point line and 63.0 percent from the charity stripe.
A two-time All-Star, Thomas has career averages of 18.4 points, 2.5 rebounds and 5.1 assists in 502 games with the Sacramento Kings, Phoenix Suns, Celtics, Cavs, Lakers, Nuggets and Wizards.
The Wizards are 7-16 on the season. They are in the 12th spot in the Western Conference standings and have lost three games in a row.
