Washington Wizards five-time All-Star point guard John Wall was the recipient of some terrible news of late. Being out of action for more than a month now, it was recently announced that the 28-year-old is now expected to miss most, if not all of next season due to a procedure that needs to be done to address a ruptured Achilles tendon.

However, despite the seemingly irreconcilable blow he recently suffered, Wall is determined to make the most of his time away from the court. According to Wizards insider Fred Katz, Wall intends to return to school to finish his college degree while he recovers from his injury.

Wall played only a single year in college for Kentucky before declaring himself for the 2010 NBA Draft, where he was selected as the first overall pick. However, despite his brief spell in college, the 6-foot-4 point guard claims that he is close to graduating.

Katz provided no further details pertaining to which university or college Wall intends to attend or what major he has been working on, but what is clear is that the former All-NBA guard is determined to secure a diploma.

This is a great decision by Wall and we could not be any more supportive of his desire to further his education. He understands that his time as a basketball superstar will come to an end sooner or later, and this is him looking out for himself and his family for after he calls it a career.
