In true Kristaps Porizngis fashion, he began his tenure with the Washington Wizards, his third NBA team, on their injury report.

After being traded from the Dallas Mavericks for two overpaid veterans, Porzingis is the latest high-profile player that the Wizards hope will pair well with Bradley Beal. Although he will have to wait to play with Beal, who is out for the rest of the season with a wrist injury, Porzingis can still get familiar with the team and head coach Wes Unseld Jr.

Nearly a month after he arrived in Washington, Porzingis is finally expected to make his Wizards debut on Sunday against the Indiana Pacers, according to NBC Sports' Chase Hughes. Porzingis appears to be confident and ready to go, as he has been practicing and tried to dunk on teammate Daniel Gafford, who is in the top 10 in blocks per game in the league.

The Wizards could definitely use a boost. Porzingis' shooting and shot-blocking should help them, even if he isn't ready to play significant minutes right away. His size could also make for a very interesting lineup combination alongside Gafford and Kyle Kuzma. This season, Porzingis is averaging 19.2 points, 7.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.7 blocks per game.

Sunday's contest against the Pacers is Washington's last game before a West Coast road trip. Getting Porzingis acclimated at home before the four consecutive away games can be very important as he embarks on his new NBA chapter.
