Kristaps Porzingis has been very visible on the Wizards sidelines in his first month in Washington. But D.C.'s hoping his next sighting will no longer be in street clothes.

KP has missed all eight games since his trade to the Wizards and whispers emerged about a potential shutdown of the former All-Star. With KP still just in one-on-one action just a few days back, he seemed far off from getting cleared to play anytime soon.

But if appears as though his progression has moved forward considerably as Kristaps Porzingis is now participating in 5-on-5 scrimmages behind closed doors. He even tried to yam it on Wizards starting center Daniel Gafford, but no confirmation on if he succeeded.

If Kristaps is comfortable enough to try and stuff it on a fellow big man, sounds like a return to the court for in-game action isn't too far away. Washington is pretty loaded up in the front court with Gafford and Thomas Bryant manning the center spot while Rui Hachimura and an emerging Kyle Kuzma are capable power forwards. But Porzingis brings a much higher ceiling than the Wizards' incumbent centers and could be exactly what they need to make a final push for the play-in tournament.

Via Chase Hughes:

“We want to see what he looks like. I think on paper, you have some ideas in your mind of how it’s supposed to look, but you want to see it in action,” Wizards head coach Wes Unseld Jr. explained. “His talent, his skillset and his abilities add another dimension for us… All those things we think we know, but how does it fit?”

Kristaps Porzingis looks to be physically ready to return in the next game or so. Now it's just about fitting him in nicely with the current group of Wizards sans Bradley Beal. Get ready for a unicorn sighting, D.C.
