Washington Wizards superstar Russell Westbrook is the triple-double GOAT and no one can take it away from him. Well, at least for a very long time.

An accomplishment that was once deemed impossible to replicate was surpassed by Westbrook because “Why not?” To further commemorate Westbrook's historic feat, the Wizards gave him a gift to add to his already-crowded trophy room.

Westbrook achieved the feat during the Wizards' matchup against the Atlanta Hawks which the D.C. squad lost. No one probably cared about the result as cheers from around the league rained on the 2017 Most Valuable Player.

Will we witness the next star overtake Westbrook's record in our lifetime? Probably not. The fact that Brodie still has a good amount of years left in the tank makes the record even more difficult to eclipse.

For now, Westbrook's focus is on the present which means carrying the Wizards past the Play-In Tournament. His midseason surge has turned Washington from being a lottery-bound team into shocking this season's contenders and other teams alike.

The Wizards' woes turned Westbrook and Bradley Beal into viral meme content night after night. It all changed when Brodie decided to flip the switch, churning MVP-like numbers for Washington. As of writing, the do-it-all guard is averaging 22.2 points, 11.5 rebounds, and 11.7 assists, and 1.3 steals per game on 44% shooting from the field.

Prior to their Friday night game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Wizards hold a 32-38 record which puts them at the 10th spot in the Eastern Conference. They're only one game behind the Charlotte Hornets for the eighth seed.
