After sitting out their game on Sunday versus the Toronto Raptors, John Wall could return to action as early as Monday, when the Washington Wizards play the second game of their back-to-back set against the Milwaukee Bucks.

The news came directly from Scott Brooks, who gave an update on the status of the star guard's sore knee, according to the Washington Post via Yahoo! Sports.

The veteran head coach shared that Wall was feeling better when he woke up on Sunday, which gives him a bigger chance of being able to suit up in their next game.

“He did wake up (Sunday) morning feeling better, not as sore,” coach Scott Brooks told the Washington Post. “But it's still wait-and-see (Monday). There's a good chance, but I don't know. Overnight, you never know. But it's nothing serious. That's the most important. He's going to be fine. It's just we felt another … 48 hours between the games would help.”

The four-time All-Star was forced to sit out the Wizards' loss to the Raptors, as his game was visibly affected last Friday when they faced the Miami Heat. John Wall only finished with eight points, three rebounds, and eight assists in 35 minutes of playing time, which was below his season averages.

Wall's availability on Monday will be crucial for the Wizards, as they are trying to avoid losing three consecutive games, which will be their longest for the year so far.
