Starting the season with five losses in six games, the Washington Wizards are in all sorts of trouble right now. Head coach Scott Brooks is far from happy about his team's recent performances, and has recently called out their defensive shortcomings.

According to the former Coach of the Year winner, the defensive mindset of his team is just not in the right place at the moment.

“We’ve got to get better [defensively],” Brooks said, per Ben Golliver of Sports Illustrated. “We’ve got to be able to take some pride on that end of the court. It’s problematic right now. The last three games, the defense is not what it needs to be to win games. … It’s a little bit of everything. We’ve got to get back. We’ve got to get into a stance. We’ve got to help each other. … We’re all frustrated. It’s about staying together.”

Brooks wasn't kidding. The Wizards are dead last in the league for most points conceded per game, with their opponents averaging 125.0 points against them on any given night. That's a terrible statistic for a team that has made the Playoffs in four of the last five years, and are expected to eventually make it to the postseason in a wide open Eastern Conference.

The good news for Brooks and the Wizards is that it's still so early in the season. There is still a lot of time to turn things around, and for the Wizards faithful, they are hoping that this comes sooner rather than later.
