The Washington Wizards have been very busy on the eve of the trade deadline, sending away Otto Porter and Markieff Morris in separate deals. This leaves others left in D.C. who have been part of rumors themselves such as Trevor Ariza.

The two-way swingman was linked to the Los Angeles Lakers even before he got traded to the Wizards. To no surprise, those Hollywood rumblings haven't died down.

However, an update from ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski douses water on whatever fire that remains in the Ariza-Lakers rumors.

Lakers are interested, but Trevor Ariza and Washington Wizards remain in each's future plans, league sources tell ESPN. Ariza is enthusiastic about re-signing with Washington. Wizards' trades creating financial flexibility that'll make it easier to bring Ariza back on new deal.

While Los Angeles has been very busy cooking up the perfect recipe that would satisfy the New Orleans Pelicans' unthinkable craving for assets to make up their eventual loss of a generational talent in Anthony Davis, the team's front office have not turned their backs on other options. Reggie Bullock was acquired by the Lakers from the Detroit Pistons Tuesday night.

Ariza has been enjoying the best run of his career since being traded to the Wizards. In 23 games, the defensive-minded swingman holds averages of 15.2 points, 5.7 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 1.5 steals.

Washington may be losing games, but it appears that Ariza has found himself a place where he perfectly fits.
