Johnny Manziel joined the AAF last year after the season began and he could be doing the same in the XFL. On Friday night, Manziel deleted his Twitter account after expressing interest in joining the new league.

Before deleting his account, Manziel directed a tweet toward Oliver Luck — the XFL commissioner — and said to ‘give the people what they want'. However, just a few hours after the tweet was made, his account no longer existed.

While it remains to be seen why he deleted his account, the decision to join the XFL could be beneficial for both sides. Last weekend, the ratings for the XFL declined a decent bit in large part due to the poor quarterback play.

Outside of Cardale Jones, P.J. Walker, and Jordan Ta'amu, the XFL lacks firepower at quarterback. Without a doubt, Manziel would cause more fans to tune in to watch the former Texas A&M signal-caller.

After being a flashy quarterback at Texas A&M, some believed that Manziel could make the transition to the NFL. Following his two years in college, Manziel was selected by the Cleveland Browns in the 2014 NFL Draft.

But after failing to get acclimated to the NFL, Manziel was out of the league in just two years. Now, in 2020, Manziel is looking to find a way to continue his football career outside of the NFL.

Of course, it is important to make sure that Manziel is in the right mindset before he chooses to play football again. In the event that Manziel is prepared mentally and physically, the XFL should absolutely consider adding him to the league.
