The New York Yankees are playing a quality brand of baseball right now. They have swept two series in a row and things are undeniably beginning to come together for the Yankees. New York trailed against the Orioles on Thursday but came back and defeated them 10-5 to cap off the sweep of Baltimore on the heels of their Guardians sweep last weekend.

New York's winning ways can be attributed to a number of things. Their offense is heating up and players are taking better at-bats. Joey Gallo is finally seeing the ball well and Anthony Rizzo is posting MVP-caliber numbers.

New York's pitching rotation has been fairly productive and the bullpen is getting the job done as well.

But Anthony Rizzo shared his thoughts on one big reason New York has played well as of late.

“Whenever you get extra outs in a baseball game, you always want to cash in on those. It was a full team homestand.”

The Orioles committed 5 errors in the final game of the series which is what Rizzo is alluding to. He also commented on the Yankees' surging lineup and recent strong play at home.

“I think playing well at home is going to energize our fan base more and more throughout the summer, especially as it warms up. I think guys are settling in more, getting more comfortable with their routine.”

Anthony Rizzo has been swinging an extremely hot bat and recently joined Babe Ruth in New York's record books with a 3-home run game. He and the Yankees will look to extend their winning streak on Friday against the Royals in Kansas City.
